【博闻社】加州国民警卫队(California National Guard)今天说,对于该警卫队近万名十年前赴伊拉克和阿富汗作战的士兵,他们被认为应偿还入伍奖金,但这个困境已受到注意,该队表示欢迎。

NPR等多家媒体引述该队发言人威廉. 马丁(William Martin)说,警卫队试图通知这些曾担任警卫队员,而且到伊拉克、阿富汗服务的人,可以有上诉的过程。

据悉,这对这群士兵被指每人须偿还15,000元或更多的奖金,那是在2000年代当局错发的钱,后来说他们必须偿还,但许多人已经花掉了,对他们而言是十分困难的,如今或可得到舒解。

马丁说,士兵领取超过应得的奖金,是当局一项错误,误导士兵领取,事后却要他们偿还。当局试图设法解决这个问题。

国会的共和党和民主党议员,以及加州议会成员都指责这项归还奖金的政策,并要求联邦采取补救行动。

士兵们对「洛杉矶时报」表示,他们被指须归还奖金,有遭到出卖的感觉。
